The Servothian Imperial Research and Development Operations (SIRDO) (German: Servotten Kaiser Forschung und Entwicklung Operationen (SKFEO), or simply Operations, is the R&D branch of the Servothian Imperial Military, established in 1869, two years after the beginning of the Servothian Military Plan. The original head of Operations was Dr. Wilhelm Glocke, and of this, in 1870, came forth the telephone.

As of currently, there are 28 Operations with about an average of 55 personnel staffing each. Five of these Operations are not located within mainland Servoth, three of which are located in different countries, and the other two are mobile platforms (one operating at sea about a military ship and the other aboard a civilian airship).

Spying[]

If you've ever taken a close look at the command structure of the SIM, you'll notice it does not include a legitimate spying or intelligence agency. Even the SS, with its' relatively known "Grey Ops", is not an intelligence agency.

This job falls upon Operations. In order to maintain its' cutting edge on technology, SIRDO controls a worldwide spy ring to get catches on any and every type of new technology. The result: highly persistent Servothian spies popping up in industrial hot spots, laboratories, and government offices all around the world. Throughout the years, this has created perhaps the most blunt of spy rings, with Servothian SIRDO Operatives knowing all too well that if they get caught, another one of their co-workers can just as easily pop back in to cover for them.

Along with their extensive collective and own technological know-how, SIRDO spies carry a vast majority of intelligence gathering equipment, most of which is highly and cleverly concealed.
